Alison Grinter Allen is Board Certified in Criminal Law. She has been an active voice for civil rights in the courtroom and in the community. She has served as a criminal defense attorney for 14 years, with a focus on indigent defendants and mental health cases. She has practiced in both federal and state courts at both the trial and appellate levels.
Alison Grinter Allen has coordinated with the ACLU and Texas Civil Rights Project on issues of voting rights as well as privacy rights. She has appeared in the local and national media to advocate for her clients and raise awareness about efforts to intimidate minority voters in North Texas.
Alison is currently working with community groups to help provide nonprofit, community-based alternatives to for-profit justice services. Alison lives in Oak Cliff with her husband, three smart daughters and an ill-behaved dog.
